INDIGENOUS STORY & SONG

On Orange Shirt Day/Truth and Reconciliation Day, we reflect on the devastating impact residential schools and colonization had and continues to have on Indigenous communities, including the silencing of their powerful music and cultural expressions.

Music is a vital part of Indigenous culture, and its influence on modern music is undeniable. The documentary RUMBLE beautifully highlights the profound contributions of Indigenous musicians, whose rhythms and melodies continue to shape the sounds we hear today.

At No Time for That (NTFT) Anti-Bullying Society, we honour Indigenous resilience and stand with Indigenous communities through story and song. Music has the power to heal, educate, and unite. We are committed to reconciliation by amplifying Indigenous voices, supporting and working with Indigenous artists/musicians, and providing free resources and programming to Indigenous communities and schools across Canada.

We express our deepest gratitude to Elders and community leaders for their wisdom and guidance.

Please support Indigenous artists and musicians and listen to their stories and songs! 🧡
